The President of the Canberra Blind Society Mr Peter Granleese, announced today that the Canberra Blind Society (CBS) will hold its annual Street Appeal on Thursday and Friday 3 & 4 May.
”The annual appeal is the only public fund-raising event conducted by the Society and is its major source of income and we look forward to the usual generous response from the people of Canberra”, Mr Granleese said.
CBS commenced in Canberra in 1958 and is a volunteer based organisation offering programs to help people who are blind or have low vision in the ACT. An increasing number of the Society’s clients are people who have become blind later in life.
CBS is a not for profit organisation which relies heavily on the generosity of the Canberra community for the majority of its income.
