Canberra Blind Society conducts many events throughout the year to support and encourage people who are vision impaired to get out and about, be active and meet new people.

2026 Events:
We will meet at CBS office on walk to the Floriade Bus stop on Petrie Street, next to the Canberra Centre and catch the bus to Commonwealth Park. For those folks making their own way to Floriade, we plan to meet at 10.30am inside the front gate to Floriade and we will arrive back at the city at 2.30pm. There will be an abundance of food stalls at Floriade so we will have couple of volunteers to assist with any individuals who would like to purchase food – or you may bring a packed picnic Lunch.

Join us for our annual general meeting at the Griffin Centre, Room 6, level 1, 6.00 pm – 8.00 pm
Join us for an afternoon filled with festive joy and inclusive celebration at the Christmas lunch for all (clients, members, family and friends) – in observance for International Day for People with Disability. Held at the Griffin Centre, Room 6, level 1 12.30 – 2.30 pm

Overview Adaptive Technology Expo – February 2023
An important event in the CBS calendar is the Society’s annual Overview information and technology display which took place this year on Friday 24th February. Overview is the only opportunity for people in Canberra and surrounding areas, to view the latest developments in a range of adaptive technology.
Birrigai Outdoor Camp – March 2023
CBS held a “Weekend to Remember” at Birrigai Outdoor School on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 March 2023.
